Old York Country Club at Chesterfield
Old York Country Club at Chesterfield is located in Chesterfield, New Jersey and was the host of the 2003 “BIG I” Junior Classic.   Old York officially opened in 1995 as a Gary Player signature design course.  The course features bent grass fairways and greens routed through mature trees and elevation changes of nearly 90 feet with no houses, roads or distractions of any kind.    The course will be played at 6743 yards for the boys, with a course rating of 72.8, and 5828 yards for the girls with a course rating of 73.7.

Chesterfield, NJ is located approximately one hour’s drive from either Philadelphia, PA or Newark, NJ.

Registration
To be eligible to compete, all players must register in-person prior to 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Olde York main ball room.   Should the occasion arise that weather or some unexpected emergency occurs, contact Mr. Carriker at (210) 710-7744 for authorization to extend the mandatory registration.

Practice Rounds
Practice rounds on Sunday and Monday have been made available for participants in this year’s Championship.  Tee-times are the player’s responsibility and may be made with the Golf Shop at (609) 298-3322x1, July 21st for the Sunday round, and July 15th for the Monday round.   A $50 fee will be required for Sunday, with no fee for Monday.

Long Drive Contest
The 14th annual Patrick Cannon Memorial Long Drive contest will be held during the Championship with the qualifying attempts held during the Monday practice round and the championship held upon completion of the third round, Thursday.  Five boys and five girls will advance to the long drive championship.

Dress Code
The Big I adheres to a strict dress code for its golfers which will be enforced throughout the week of the Championship.  Players are expected to wear traditional golf attire in good taste.  All changes of attire are to be made in the locker rooms.  The Committee and Host venue reserve the right to ask any player not conforming to the following dress code to change or leave the facility.

Required Dress includes:
            -           Men must wear collared shirts, turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks, and those shirts must be tucked-in
          at all times.
            -           Hats or visors must be worn with the brim forward
            -           Women’s fashion shirts without a collar must have sleeves.
            -           Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at anytime during the golf swing.
            -           Women’s shorts must be no more than 5” above the knee or the inseam of the shorts
                        must measure at least 5”.
The Following Are Not Permitted:
            -           Tee shirts or collarless shirts (men)
            -           Tank tops, jeans, denim shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts or short-shorts.
            -           Cargo pants or cargo shorts.
Spectators are asked to dress appropriately while at our host venue.  Again, the committee and host venue reserve the right to ask anyone dressed offensively or inappropriately to change or depart the premises.  Denim is not allowed in any of the Country Club facilities.

Carts
As a general rule, carts are not allowed on the course during the Monday practice round, nor the Championship rounds.  Carts will only be allowed on the course during the Championship supported by a doctor’s certified medical reason for a player’s relative.  This authorization must be requested from Mr. Carriker at Championship Operations.

Caddies
Caddies may be used during the practice rounds and rounds three and four during the Championship.  The caddie may not be a parent or professional golf coach.  Olde York will not have caddies available.

Player’s Lounge
The Player’s Lounge will be located at the back patio of the Banquet Hall and will be open to players only between the hours of 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  Lunch will be provided to the players at no cost Tuesday through Friday.  Snacks and beverages will be available in the appropriate locker rooms from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.

Practice Range
The Practice range will be in operation between the hours of 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 pm. Monday through Friday.  Player services will be positioned Tuesday through Friday.

The Host Committee has arranged for special room rates in the immediate area surrounding the Old York Country Club.

Transportation
Transportation will be provided to players by the Host Committee from the Philadelphia airport on Sunday (only), July 25th to Old York CC at Chestfield.   Return transportation on Friday (only), July 30th will also be made available to the Philadelphia airport.  When booking return flights, please consider the travel time between Chesterfield and the Philadelphia airport is approximately one hour, with the final round being completed at approximately 2:30 p.m., followed by the Awards ceremony.  This transportation is only available to players staying with host families.Insure all transportation information is provided during on-line registration, and feel free to contact Nancy Hagerman, Host Transportation Chairman at (856) 346-2300 x307 or nhagerman@laurelcoiia.com for additional transportation details.

Please consider Enterprise Rent A Car when renting a car at the Philadelphia Airport as Enterprise is a proud sposor of this year's Championship.

Host Family Housing
The Trusted Choice Big “I” is famous for its host / private housing.  The Host Committee provides housing for two players in each house, provided by club members and residents of the local community.  Cut-off for private housing requests will be July 17, 2010.  Host families will house two players of like ages and gender, and will provide transportation for their players during their stay.

On-Line Registration
All players must register on-line by accessing the bigigolf.com website.  Players advancing to the National Championship will receive contact information from the State Chairs upon completion of their State Qualifying Tournament, while all exempt players will receive the same information from Mr. Carriker.  Please be complete with this registration as the type of support provided by the National and Host Committees is determined by these entries.

Other Information
Soft pikes only are allowed on the course.
Range finders (no wind or slope capability) may be used during the practice and Championship rounds.
